Assessment is the basis of any action. Official Language minority programs, projects or initiatives are built on information concerning the people, organizations, policies and laws, as well as concerns, assets and demographics of the community in question. The Assessment step provides resources on how to conduct effective research, value citizen engagement, facilitate the emergence of grassroots leadership and successfully fundraise. Given that assessment is process and result orientated, this step offers techniques on how to gather and process information for English-speaking Quebecers, understand their socio-political context, and foster individual and collective empowerment within this Official Language minority community.
